VZ Baseball is a blog dedicated to the Venezuelans who ply their trade in the Major Leagues of North America. Since the 1950s, stars like Chico Carrasquel and Luis Aparicio have traveled to the United States (and now, Canada) to showcase the best of their nation’s baseball talent.

As a correspondent for Lonely Planet in Venezuela, I’ve visited the country a few times and seen games in Caracas, Maracaibo, and Barquisimeto, where I paid homage at the statue of Luis Sojo.
